Description
Suffix Primer EP is a sovient-free, epoxy-based primer suitable for general use. It is used in the preparation and priming of surfaces on which, epoxy, polyurethane or polyurea-based coating will be applied. It’s easy to apply. It penetrates the surfaces and closes the gaps and pores. Can be used indoors and outdoors. After curing it becomes very resistant to abrasion and breakage and its also waterproof.
Areas of Use
It is used in:
- repairs by making epoxy mortar with the addition of silica sand
- the priming of the surface before the application of floor covering system
- as primer under epoxy, polyurea and polyurethane surface coatings
- as an under-coating dust removal material in warehouses and factories
- the coating cement-based surfaces (ramps, warehouses)
- to remove existing elevation differences, broken particles and surface defects on the ground before aplication
Advantages
It has very good penetration. It has high adheasion strenght. It does not contain solvents. It’s easy to apply. It is a multi-purpose primer
Technical Properties
- Volume – 100%
- Density – 1070
- Hardness (Shore D) – 70
- Compressive strength – 70+ N/mm²
- Adheasion strength – 3+ N/mm²
- Flexural strength – 20 N/mm²
- Mixing Ratio – 100:50
- Touch dry – 4-6 hours
- Waiting time between layers – 4-12 hours
- Full Curing – 7 days
Preparation
To achieve perfect results, the mixing ration must be applied correctly. Changin the mixing ratio causes the surface ro not dry properly and not reach its full mechanical properties. Its essential to use scale while preparing the mixture.
The application surface must be solid and cleaned using high-pressure water if possible. It must be completly free of oil, grease, fuel, paraffin waste, as well as mold release agents, cement plus residue, chips, loose particles and cured coatings. The surface that to be applied must be clean and dry. If necessary, milling and shaving operations (sand blasting, ball blasting, milling, rubbing) should be Performed on the ground.
The relative humidity of the air should be maximum 80% and the application temperature should be be 10-35 °C
Application
50g of component B must be mixed with 100g of component A by weight. When weighing, component B should be weighted first and then component A should be added to it. To obtain a homogeneus mixture, the components should be mixed quickly with mechanical mixer for at least 3 minutes until the mixture becomes homogeneous. The system tends to heat up in the container it is mixed in. Only the amount of product needed to be applied should be mixed. The maximum amount to be prepeared at one time is 5kg.
Before the application you need to make sure the mold in which the epoxy will be poured has leakeage isolation.
If layered casting is to be done, after the first layer is poured at 20 °C, wait 16-20 hours and check the epoxy by hand contact. Once the soft but non-adhesive condition is detected, the second layer can be poured.
Storing and Shelf Life
It should kept tightly at room temperature, protected from sunlight. The Resin should be at 15-25 °C. Keeping the epoxy at lower temperatures causes crystallization and in this case a clear mixture cannot be obtained. If the Epoxy Temperature is below 10 °C, the temperature of the material should be carefully increased to 15-25 °C with a water bath in the container
It can be stored in its unopened original containers for 1 year from the date of production. Material in opened buckets should be used immediately.
Consuption
The primer usage may vary between 0,3-0,5 kg/1m2 depending on the system solution.
